Sunday Morning by Leslie and William Adler

Created between New Jersey and Costa Rica

Inspiration

“Sunday Morning” is a layered tribute to slow rituals and shared spaces. A quiet collaboratio between artist and photographer, this monoprint merges a Costa Rican coffee cart photo with symbols of leisurely mornings: flowers, café cups, patterned napkins, and a well-thumbed New York Times. Leslie had long used coffee as a medium in her ink paintings, drawn to its soft, pure tones. Will had been exploring photography of objects. Together, their intuitive process created this piece—not as a concept, but as a slice of life made beautiful.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Leslie Adler has been immersed in art her entire life, working across printmaking, painting, and ceramics. Her background in graphic design influences her love for form and structure, but she approaches each piece intuitively—often blending nature, color, and abstract ideas. Whether exploring shared human experiences or personal impressions, Leslie’s work reflects a deep engagement with both beauty and process. William Adler began his photography journey at 14 with a Rolliflex and a home darkroom. A graduate of the School of Visual Arts, his photography centers on finding perspective in the overlooked: reflections, stillness, the quiet power of objects. After years away from art, a reconnection with photography and collaboration with Leslie rekindled his visual storytelling. Together, they bring a fresh dialogue between mediums.
