Our Story

It all began with a second cup of coffee.

While working as Marketing Director for the global online art gallery Artspan, I came across a painting by Jim Lively with that very title. It captured something timeless—how coffee fuels both conversation and creativity. That moment grew into the idea for a book that would celebrate coffee as seen through the eyes of artists around the world.

The call went out, and artists answered. From hundreds of submissions, 65 were curated globally to be part of this collection. Their work spans painting, photography, collage, digital art, and even coffee itself as a medium. Together, the book showcases coffee as ritual, culture, and inspiration.

But this project is about more than the book—it’s about supporting living artists. We awarded cash prizes to the top three artists, and for every print sold through our website, 60% goes directly back to the artist. It’s our way of making sure the celebration of coffee and creativity also fuels the people who make it possible.

Bringing the book to life was a collaboration. Greg Shuey and Carole Weitz, both alumni of the legendary ad agency Ogilvy, shaped the book’s design and visual identity. And thanks to Andrea Goodman of Swivel Works, our website offers a beautiful place to explore the book, meet the artists, and shop prints.

Three years in the brewing, The Coffee Table Art Book has grown into a global celebration of coffee and creativity—one you can hold in your hands, hang on your walls, and share with others.
