Creation of Adam by Vlad Zadneprianski

Cartoon/Ink on Paper

Staten Island, New York, USA

Inspiration

“Creation of Adam” reimagines a sacred art moment—through the lens of a modern Monday at the coffee shop. With tongue-in-cheek brilliance, Vlad draws a parallel between Michelangelo’s iconic fresco and the caffeine-fueled spark of life that hits just after that first cup. Humorous, clever, and highly relatable, it captures the divinity of daily routines and the universal struggle to start the week.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Vlad is a Ukrainian-born artist, cartoonist, and Creative Director now based in New York City. His cartoons, known for their wit and insight, have chronicled everything from politics to pandemic life. Though cartooning remains a personal passion, Vlad’s professional work as a Creative Director at TPG Architecture spans global design projects.

In addition to his cartooning, Vlad is the originator of “Compositionism,” a semi-abstract art movement rooted in geometric simplicity and visual rhythm. His work has been exhibited internationally—including the Venice Art Biennale (2022), in London, and at Rockefeller Center. Whether drawing with humor or painting with structure, Vlad’s creative voice is unmistakable.

Go-to Coffee Order: Cappuccino (and sometimes caramel-flavored coffee) Coffee Sanctuary:Peet’s Coffee. A reliable launchpad for both sketches and strong starts.
