ABOUT THE ARTIST
Johanna Owen—“Jo” to her fans—is a London-based painter known for her vibrant, impressionistic dog portraits. Working entirely with her hands, Jo builds layers of acrylic and gouache paint to create expressive, personality-packed pieces. Her muse is Tuna, a spirited rescue mutt, and her work reflects the bond between humans and their dogs with color, charm, and a great sense of humor.
In 2022, her exhibition A Dog’s Dinner explored the delightful quirks of dogs and food, mixing heartfelt observation with playful storytelling. Whether painting a pup mid-snack or mid-stare at a coffee cup, Jo’s work captures life’s little pleasures with tail-wagging enthusiasm.
