Coffee Inspired Art and the Story of the 65th Artist

Most readers flip through Coffee Table Art Book and discover the work of 64 artists from around the world interpreting coffee through their own creative lens.

But the final page of the book is different.

It simply reads:

65: Your Turn…

The page is titled Creativity Leaves a Mark.

And it explains:

Creativity is always brewing.

You've just explored the work of 64 artists from around the world — and we intentionally left the 65th spot open. Why? Because that space belongs to you.

Whether it's a sketch on a napkin, a photo of your favorite coffee moment, or a poetic tribute to your daily cup — we want to celebrate it.

Select submissions will be featured online — or even in the next edition.

Because coffee and creativity were made to be shared.

Coffee themed Artwork by Rachel Williams

When the 65th Artist Became Real

Recently that idea came full circle.

At a women’s art opening at Quest Emporium in Montclair, NJ I met Hudson Valley painter Rachel Williams. She had seen Coffee Table Art Book there, where it was being exhibited and sold.

As soon as she realized it was my book, she told me she had created a series of coffee inspired paintings and had originally wanted to submit them when the call for artists went out, but had missed the deadline.

We started talking about art, coffee, and the small rituals that often inspire creativity.

I then shared the idea behind the final page and the 65th artist.

I asked if she would be open to sending the work anyway.

A few days later, she shared three coffee themed paintings.

Those pieces became the first response to the 65th artist page.

The Story Continued

Something unexpected happened after sharing Rachel’s work and the idea behind the final page.

Two more artists reached out after seeing the posts and sent their own coffee inspired artwork.

They had not submitted work for the original book. They simply connected with the idea that creativity can grow out of something as ordinary and personal as a cup of coffee.

That is exactly the spirit behind the project.

Coffee continues to inspire creativity long after the last page.

Why Coffee Inspires Artists

Coffee has long been part of creative life.

Writers draft their first sentences beside a cup.
Painters pause between brushstrokes.
Photographers capture quiet café moments.
Collage artists gather scraps of paper, postcards, stamps, and coffee stained textures from everyday life.

Coffee is both ritual and pause.

A small daily moment that often becomes the brew for creativity.

Your Turn

The idea behind that page is simple.

Coffee has a way of stirring creativity. A sketch beside a cup. A photograph of your morning ritual. A poem written in a café. A collage made from the scraps of everyday life.

You don’t need to be one of the artists in the book.

And you don’t even need to own the book.

If coffee inspires something creative in you, we would love to see it.

A painting.
A photograph.
A poem.
A collage.

However creativity shows up.
